4 female suicide bombers die after a failed attempt to attack Maiduguri today

Four Female suicide bombers lost their lives in a failed attempt to bomb Dala Yazaram community in Maiduguri today. This comes barely 24 hours after 55 people were killed in separate suicide bomb attacks in Maiduguri in Borno state and Yola in Adamawa state.

The Rivers state election petition tribunal this afternoon annulled the election of Nyesom Wike as governor of the state. The tribunal has ordered a rerun to be conducted in 90 days.See more reactions below...

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) has described as unacceptable and bizarre the election tribunal verdicts in both Rivers and Akwa Ibom state. The Akwa Ibom state election petition tribunal few days ago had nullified the state governorship election in 18 Local governments and ordered a rerun. The All Progressives Congress (APC) has described Saturday’s judgement of the Rivers State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal that overturned the election of Gov. Nyesom Wike of the PDP as a deadly body blow to impunity and hooliganism. In a statement issued in Lagos on Saturday by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the party said the judgement has shown clearly that the era of impunity and hooliganism is over, and that the only way for elections to have legitimacy is for them to be free, fair and credible.

The Rivers state election petition tribunal sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers state today nullified Governor Nyesom Wike's election. The tribunal led by Justice Ambusa said the April 11 2015 election which brought Wike to power was marred by election fraud and violence. He ordered for a rerun election in 90 days. Yesterday at a plenary session,October 22nd, the Speaker, Rt.Hon. Surajudeen Ishola Adekunbi read out ta letter from the Governor of Ogun State, Sen. Ibikunle Amosun, wherein names of five additional commissioner nominees to be screened today October 23 by 11am. were contained.

The suspects identified as Andulazeez Muhazab, Ishaka Jimoh, Mohammed Jimoh, Abullahi Nasiru and Abulwaheed Nasiru, were arraigned on a five count charge of conspiracy to carry out a bomb attack utilizing Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), resulting in the death of scores of citizens and the injury of several others, as well as the possession of materials which could be used to make IEDs.

NDLEA arrest student,4 others over possesion of 10. 255kg narcotics (photos)

A 26 year old student Okonkwo Daniel Anagor and four others identified as Lawal Monsuru Ademola, Ogbonna Donatus Chigozie, Okoro Chibueze Augustine and Okpue Ernest Ifeanyi have been arrested by officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for suspected drug trafficking.
The suspects were apprehended at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA) Lagos for the unlawful possession of 10.255kgs of narcotics hidden in a sack of Garri and their luggage.

US special forces have rescued 70 Kurds held captive by Isis in an overnight raid on a militant-run prison near the northern ISIS stronghold of Hawija. One soldier was killed and several senior ISIS militants were also seized during the ‘successful’ operation, it has been reported.

President Buhari has appointed Mahmud Yakubu as the substantive chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC. Yakubu's appointment was approved during the council of state meeting which held at the state house today October 21st. Yakubu takes over from Amina Zakari who has been working as INEC Chairman in acting capacity since Attahiru Jega left office in June. She was appointed INEC commissioner for the North-East.

A man in China had to be rescued after getting his arm stuck in a toilet brimming with poo while trying to retrieve his treasured iPhone. He had just done number two and was pulling up his trousers when the phone slipped out and into the toilet. He promptly plunged his hand down the loo in a desperate but ultimately futile attempt to retrieve his phone, he got stuck and called for help.

President Buhari has replaced the immediate past Head of Service, with Winifred Oyo-Ita. Oyo-Ita, a native of Cross River, is currently the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Science and Technology. She is 51 years old and a trained chartered accountant.

Khloe puts relationship with James Harden on hold following Lamar's crisis

TMZ reporst that Khloe Kardashian has put her relationship with basketball player boyfriend James Harden on hold following ex Lamar Odom's medical crisis. The reality star, who is said to still have feelings for her estranged husband, has asked James to give her some time as she plans to be by Lamar's side during his rehab, which will take many months. The estranged couple both signed their final divorce paper, but it hasn't been finalized so they are still legally married.

These shocking photos were taken during the annual vegetarian festival in Phucket, held at the ninth lunar month of the Chinese calendar. Slitting open their cheeks and forcing everything from guns, to electrical wire, to giant knives and even axes through the holes, were part of the ritual.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, today interrogated the immediate past minister of Interior, Abba Moro, over the March 2014 employment scam in the Nigerian Immigration Service.The scam, which led to the death of about 20 applicants in various recruitment centres across the country, involved fleecing over 520,000 Nigerian graduate applicants to the tune of N520 million.

LA Times reports that Lamar Odom is making steady improvement. He's reportedly been texting and 'speaking sentences' from his hospital bed since he recovered consciousness. A spokeswoman for Lamar's aunt also said he was improving.

A former governor of Kebbi state, Usman Dakingari has been reportedly arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over allegations that he laundered N3.8billion from the state.
According to Sahara Reporters he was detained around 10a.m. at the EFCC headquarters and is currently undergoing interrogation at the hands of EFCC investigators.

A Small plane on Sunday,October 18 has reported crashed into a residential area of Bogota three minutes after its take-off from El Dorado airport in the Colombian capital.

Authorities say the crash set the bakery on fire, resulting in the death of the pilot and his three passengers.Officials also said that one person was killed inside the bakery and seven others suffered burns, including a 12-year-old girl.The injured people were immediately rushed to the hospital, two out of those hospitalised were reported to be in a critical condition.
